I turned 21 on the 24th of February and leading up to it, I was completely overjoyed. Now that I am 21 I thought I would share some valuable things I’ve learned.

1. Embrace where you're at now
We spend so much time dreaming about a different body or even a different life and forget to embrace the stage we are at currently.
2. God’s timing is the perfect timing
Always.
3. Prioritize your mental health
Your mental health should not be something you only pay attention to when things are bad.
4. Asking for help is okay
I don’t mind helping people, but I often struggle asking for help, even if its from people I know and love. If you’re like me in that sense, I think its important to know that the people around you actually love helping you.
5. Love wholeheartedly
Loving wholeheartedly is so much easier said then done. It’s so difficult to completely open yourself up to people especially when you have experienced hurt but its important to love others the way you’d like to be loved. That goes for any kind of relationship, whether it is a romantic relationship, a friendship or a relationship with a family member, love wholeheartedly.
6. Support, Support, Support
Support the people you love in the best ways you know how.
7. Don’t underestimate yourself.
Never, ever! You are capable of great things that you can not even begin to comprehend!
8. Make smart financial decisions
If you get an allowance or even a pay check, use it wisely. Save, if you are fortunate enough to do so and you will thank yourself later.

9. The past affects the present
It truly does.
10. Start preparing for your career early
NB! If you are fortunate enough to know what you want to do in the future or at the very least the industry you’d like to work in, started preparing yourself now. Learn as much as you can about what it is you want to do.
11. Don’t compare yourself to others
Everyone doesn’t have the same story and people go through different things. When you look at your peers achieving amazing things do not immediately look down on yourself for not being where they are. “Own lane, own race, own pace”
12. Change is inevitable
I personally hate change but its going to happen either way so just roll with it.
13. Let go of what no longer serves you
Let go of if immediately, you don’t need that dead weight.
14. Life is short
I’ve experienced death many times and every time I do my first thought is “life is short”. No one knows when it is their last day so live everyday as if it is your last.
15. Just start
Start today, be it a business, a YouTube channel, a relationship or even exercising, just start. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just start. This is the same advice I got when I was contemplating this blog, btw. So If you're waiting for a sign, this is it ❤
16. Prayer is powerful
Prayer + Faith + Trusting in God = Killer Combo.

17. Rest, Rest, Rest
If you need a day off, take it.
18. It’s the little things …
The little things matter, always.
19. Document your memories
Documenting your memories is having a tangible reminder of a specific stage in your life so when you look back at it, it will evoke all the emotions you experienced at that very moment.

20. Everything will work out the way it’s suppose to
Eventually.
21. Celebrate Yourself
Don’t downplay your wins, celebrate every single milestone even if it’s something seemingly small.
