Navigating relationships can be difficult especially in the "#relationshipgoals" era. We idealize certain relationships but in reality, no relationship is perfect all the time. All relationships have highlights and low lights. It is also important to note all relationships are specific to the people in that relationship. 1. Respect
Respecting the person you are in a romantic relationship with is of utmost importance. You and your person should strive have mutual respect for one another. Your person should value your beliefs. Your person should also respect your boundaries.
2. Safety
Those in romantic relationships should feel safe and comfortable around each other. It is important to not feel threaten and afraid of your partner. If you do feel unsafe around your partner that is definitely a red flag.
3. Communication
In a healthy relationship you should be able to share your thoughts and feelings with your partner without hesitation. Your partner should also make you feel heard and respected.
4. Support
Support is another defining feature in a healthy relationship. Having someone who is always there for you to listen and give feedback is important.
